Why would you enjoy Learn English Through Art? Firstly, we have a huge range of lessons covering the subject of Arts and Culture today. In addition, every lesson is packed with visual elements to keep you interested. Furthermore, you will learn new vocabulary and get to practice these new words through exercises and conversations that will encourage you to think about subjects in challenging ways.

These are English lessons not art lessons. Although I hope that you will also learn about art, the main aim of these lessons is to learn the English language. They are carefully structured around tried and tested language learning methods, and, don’t worry, you will also learn all the language necessary for day-to-day life. In short, what I am offering are lessons that will stimulate your imagination and ignite (or re-ignite) a passion for learning the English language through art.

These lessons are aimed at adults from beginner to advanced.

Try my lessons if you’re interested in arts and culture and want some material to push your English language skills to the next level. I think you’ll find them interesting and useful.

English Teacher and Museum Educator

I’m a professional English teacher with 6 years experience teaching online. I have worked for over 25 years in education departments of cultural organisations. For 16 years, for example, I was the head producer of documentation at BALTIC Centre for Contemporary Art (one of England’s leading art galleries). Creating and developing an ongoing series of workshops and learning activities was one of my main responsibilities. Furthermore, it was also my role to create their online digital content and develop their online archive. My freelance work has seen me create educational resources for the University of Newcastle, University of Northumbria, National Trust, English Heritage, RSPB, and Contemporary Visual Arts Network (CVAN). In addition, I have also worked at the BBC, Bristol Art Library, British Museum, as well as other smaller museums.

Using all of this experience I have developed a unique and ongoing series of digital lessons. These are specially designed to work on online video-chat platforms (usually Zoom or Google Meet).

For me, a lesson doesn’t end after the online session. I like to find out which problems you are having with the language and train you to overcome them. In conclusion, I will work tirelessly both online and off to ensure you reach continuously higher levels. I will continue to find ways to help you understand and find material that is interesting to YOU.
